This policy explains how Camaleonic Survey's artificial intelligence credits work: what each plan includes, what the consumption of each action depends on, what happens when credits run out, and how top-ups work. The AI layer is optional and can be disabled for an organization, as explained in Responsible AI.
In brief
- Each plan includes an AI credit allowance that renews every billing cycle.
- Credits measure use of AI features. They do not represent money or disclose the provider's internal cost.
- The consumption of each action depends on the depth of the reasoning required, the length of the content processed, and the number of elements analyzed. The cost of each executed action is always recorded and visible in the application.
- Plan credits do not roll over. Purchased credits do not expire and remain on the account while it stays active.
- An action blocked before execution, or one that fails without producing a usable result, does not consume credits: the reservation is released automatically.
- Per-request limits and technical controls are published separately from the credit allowance so they cannot be confused with additional charges.
1. What AI credits are
Credits are Camaleonic Survey's own unit of use. They make it possible to measure features with different workloads predictably: a short Iris message consumes less than generating or translating a complete survey.
Credits are not electronic money, cannot be redeemed for cash, and do not constitute a deposit. The application shows the available allowance, current cycle usage, and top-up balance under Settings → AI.
2. Credits included with each plan
The current allowance per billing cycle is:
| Plan | Included credits |
|---|---|
| Trial | 40 |
| Basic | 150 |
| Pro | 600 |
| Spectrum | 300 per seat |
| Enterprise | No limited pool, subject to the contract and technical controls |
The plan allowance renews at the start of every cycle. Unused included credits do not carry over to the next cycle. On Spectrum, the allowance is calculated from the number of active seats.
An upgrade may increase the allowance during the current cycle. A downgrade applies the new allowance from the next cycle. Specific Enterprise terms prevail when they are set out in a signed order form or contract.
3. Consumption per action
The credit consumption of each AI action is not a fixed price per feature: it reflects the actual work the action demands of the system. It depends on three factors:
- The depth of the reasoning required: a one-off edit does not cost the same as an analysis that crosses several data sources.
- The length of the content processed or generated: a five-question survey consumes less than a forty-question one, and a small set of responses less than thousands of free-text responses.
- The number of elements analyzed: the questions, responses, segments, languages, or surveys involved in the action.
As an indicative reference: simple assistant edits (an Iris message, a one-off builder adjustment, extracting a palette) consume little; full survey generation or translation, open-text analyses, and per-segment analyses consume more.
The cost of each executed action is always recorded and visible in the application: before executing it, whenever an estimate can be calculated (for example, on the confirmation screen of a generation, when that estimate is available), and in every case after executing it, in the usage detail under Settings → AI. This is the same transparency standard applied by the leading AI products on the market: the calculation rule is stable and public, and the specific number is shown in the place where it is used.
Results served entirely from a valid cache do not create a new charge. If an action is internally divided into batches to process a large dataset, it is charged as a single action rather than as an opaque sum of internal requests.
Some AI features are rolled out gradually: they only appear, and only consume credits, once they are available on the account.
Changes to the consumption criteria. Any change adverse to the customer (an increase in an action's consumption, a reduction of allowances, or a price increase) will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice by email and/or an in-app notice, and the customer may cancel their subscription before the change takes effect. Changes apply prospectively only and never affect actions already executed. Improvements (allowance increases or consumption reductions) may apply immediately. The current version of the criteria is always the one visible in the application and the one published on this page.
4. Generation limits
A single survey-generation request can create no more than:
| Plan | Maximum questions per generation |
|---|---|
| Trial | 8 |
| Basic | 15 |
| Pro | 30 |
| Spectrum | 40 |
| Enterprise | 60 |
This limit controls the size of one generation. The customer can review and edit the draft, add questions manually, or request later refinements. Each new AI action consumes the corresponding credits.
5. What happens when credits run out
The application provides notice as the allowance approaches its limit. If the included credits are exhausted and there is no purchased balance, AI actions that consume credits pause until the cycle renews or an administrator buys more credits. The rest of the Service continues to operate normally.
Administrators can set usage caps for members of their organization. A member who reaches an assigned cap cannot consume more credits even if the organization still has a balance, until an administrator changes that allocation.
6. Additional credits
Administrators can purchase top-ups under Settings → AI. The current rate is 12 credits per euro, with a minimum purchase of 5 euros. Applicable taxes and the final amount are shown before payment is confirmed.
Purchased credits:
- do not expire;
- are consumed after the plan's included allowance;
- remain on the account after a plan change or subscription cancellation, while the account stays active; and
- can only be used while the account has active access to AI features. What happens to them when the account is closed or the Service is discontinued is governed by section 9.
Right of withdrawal. When the buyer is a consumer, a top-up is digital content or a digital service supplied immediately. Before payment, the buyer's prior express consent to begin performance is requested, together with their acknowledgment that the right of withdrawal is lost once performance begins, in accordance with Article 103(m) of Spanish Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007. The purchase process records the version and date of that acceptance and provides confirmation of it on a durable medium. Section 5 of the Terms of Use also applies.
7. Technical limits and reasonable use
Credits are the ordinary commercial limit. In addition, AI features and platform capacity are subject to reasonable use: the Service applies rate, security, capacity, and anti-abuse controls to protect all organizations. Automated or systematic extraction of data or results, artificial inflation of usage, resale of AI capacity to third parties, or usage patterns that degrade the Service for other customers may lead to rate limiting of requests or suspension of the affected functionality, with advance notice where reasonably possible, in accordance with the Acceptable Use Policy and the reasonable-use clause of the Terms of Use.
A request blocked before execution does not deduct credits. These controls do not create a second tariff or turn legitimate use into a hidden charge. If a technical limit repeatedly affects legitimate business use, an administrator may contact support to review the configuration or contractual requirements.
8. Usable results, failures, and credit returns
For the purposes of this policy, a usable result is a result delivered to the customer that responds to the request made, even if its style or wording could be improved. That a result could be better does not make it a failure: credits are consumed when the action produces the requested result.
By contrast, partial, failed, or interrupted generations do not consume credits. When an action fails for a reason attributable to the Service or its inference provider, or is interrupted without producing a usable result, the credit reservation is released automatically as soon as the failure is detected, with no request or contact with support required. An action canceled or blocked before it starts also creates no final usage charge.
If the customer believes a specific charge is incorrect, support can review the case: simply email [email protected] with the organization, the approximate date, and the affected action.
9. Credits when the account or the Service ends
Unless a mandatory rule provides otherwise, credits are handled as follows when the relationship ends:
- Voluntary account closure. Unused purchased credits can be used during the 30 calendar days following the closure request. After that period, they are lost without any right to compensation.
- Suspension for justified cause or non-payment. Credits (included and purchased) are frozen during the suspension and become available again if the account is reactivated.
- Discontinuation of the Service by decision of Camaleonic Survey. The proportional part of unused purchased credits is refunded, or an equivalent remedy is offered.
- Plan-included credits. They never survive termination of the contract and are never converted into money.
Cancelling the subscription without closing the account does not remove the top-up balance: purchased credits remain while the account stays active, although they can only be used while the account has access to AI features. This same rule is set out in clause 5.6 of the Terms of Use.
10. Transparency and contact
Under Settings → AI, customers can review:
- the included allowance, remaining balance, and renewal date;
- the purchased-credit balance;
- the cost of each executed action and, where an estimate is possible, the expected cost before executing it;
- usage summaries by action and day; and
- for administrators, usage and caps by member.
For any question about credits, top-ups, or a specific charge, email [email protected].
This policy supplements the Terms of Use. If there is a conflict, the Terms of Use prevail and, for Enterprise customers, the signed order form or contract prevails.
